TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES | Sapwood and heartwood are not well defined. The sapwood is yellowish white while the heartwood is tan to pinkish brown. It has a fine to medium uniform texture and a straight grain. Willow, if not treated, has a poor durability and is susceptible to insect attacks. |
DRYING METHOD | It should be carefully and slowly dried to avoid splitting. |
MAIN USES AND WORKING | This wood is quite easy to work. Willow is used for baskets, crates, sports facilities, carvings, fixtures and furniture in general. |
