| TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES | Heartwood and sapwood are clearly distinguish; The Heartwood is light brown, while the wide sapwood is a paler yellowish white. Radiata Pine lumber is plantation-grown, and generally has very wide growth rings and is knot-free. The grain is straight with a medium, even texture. The heartwood is rated as perishable in regards to decay resistance. The sapwood if treated with preservatives, it could be used also for exterior application. |
| DRYING METHOD | The wood must be very slowly and carefully dried in order to avoid checking and warping. |
| MAIN USES AND WORKING | Radiata Pine works well with both hand and machine tools. Glues and finishes well. This wood is usually used for: veneer, plywood, boxes, and construction lumber. |
