TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES | Sapwood and heartwood are clearly distinguished. The sapwood is greyish while the heartwood is brick-red tending to brown, with violet tones. This wood is hard and compact and it has a coarse but homogeneous texture. |
DRYING METHOD | It is a very easy and quick process but it must be carried very carefully to avoid splitting. |
MAIN USES AND WORKING | Although compact and hard, this wood can work very well. If polished, it offers perfect and already almost glossy surfaces. Kossipo is widely used for indoor and outdoor carpentry, stairs, floors, furniture and profiles in general. |
