| TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES | Azobè is a large tree, it can reach a height of 40 m and a maximum trunk diameter of 180 cm. Sapwood and heartwood are well distinguished, the first is narrow with light pink/brownish streaks and heartwood renges from reddish brown to purplish. An interesting feature of the Azobè is the difficulty in ignition and combustion. |
| DRYING METHOD | The artificial drying is not easy, must be processed very slowly and carefully to avoid splitting and warping. |
| MAIN USES AND WORKING | In general, a wider use is found for shipbuilding, for sleepers, for interior and exterior furnishings, floors and furniture.
Thanks to its resistance it can be useful for carpentry works and barrel constructions. |
