| TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES Sapwood and heartwood are different. The sapwood is whitish while the heartwood has a very characteristic and vivid color, a coral red which however tends to darken over time. The texture is medium and the grain straight. Heartwood is resistant to attacks by insects and fungi. |

| DRYING METHOD The artificial drying must be processed very slowly and carefully to avoid splitting and warping. | |
| MAIN USES AND WORKINGPadouk is an excellent turning wood and is widely used in exterior joinery, boat building, floor planks and stairs. It is also used in cabinet making for high quality furniture, furnishings, ornamental objects, knife handles and various tools. |
