The sapwood is a paler yellow. The attractive grain is usually interlocked, producing a ribbon figure or a wide, often irregular stripe on quarter-sawn surfaces. The texture is medium and uniform. |
DRYING METHOD | It is a very easy and quick process but it must be carried very carefully to avoid splitting. |
MAIN USES AND WORKING | Easy to saw and work with both hand and machine tools. When polished, it acquires a great shine and for this it is much better in furniture finishing, widely used in carpentry, wardrobes, panels, stairs, floors, profiles and frames. It is a popular material for decorative plywood and decorative veneer. |
