TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES Sapwood and heartwood are not well defined.
The sapwood is yellowish white while the heartwood is tan to pinkish brown.
It has a fine to medium uniform texture and a straight grain.
Willow, if not treated, has a poor durability and is susceptible to insect attacks.
DRYING METHOD It should be carefully and slowly dried to avoid splitting.
MAIN USES AND WORKING This wood is quite easy to work.
Willow is used for baskets, crates, sports facilities, carvings, fixtures and furniture in general.
